chinese quince no. 2
Pseudocydonia sinensis
Height 28" Width 30"
Nature has so many identifiers that unveil the character and diversity of flora existing across planet Earth. Warm springs expose trees eager to push growth and respond to temperature. The Chinese quince is one of these species that is abnormally responsive to temperature and incredibly durable to both cold and warmth. It’s zest to grow and hardiness make it an amazing choice to create broad leaf deciduous bonsai.
The muscled trunk, gripping nebari, and undulating branches make well done Pseudocydonia bonsai highly coveted, yet rarely found. This specimen, most likely imported, was given its shape and maturation over the course of 20 years by Suthin Suksolvisit. Multiple iterations at Mirai have lead to the current front and design, which finally captures the unpredictable magnificence of this tree.
